About

It is just me. That is the point.

BasedNode is me, Omar, a civil engineer in physics and nanotechnology from DTU. I build software for companies that have more of the same work every day than they have time for. I have taught maths and programming since 2019 and worked with AI at GXU since 2025. And I am the one writing the code — not an agency with people you never meet.

§ 01 — Why it is me

I can do it cheaply, because making it expensive is not my life’s work.

There is a reason most small companies have not automated anything: hiring a developer is expensive, and it is hard to know whether it is worth the money. I think most of the processes that run inside a small company are easy to automate. They have just not been built, because nobody had time to go in and find out how the work is actually done. That is what I go in and do. And because it is me and not an agency, it costs less, and you talk to the person writing the code.

Wedge 01 / 03

You talk to me, the whole way.

There is no account manager, no sales department and no handover to a junior. The person in the call is the person who builds it, and the person who answers when the system does something unexpected.

Wedge 02 / 03

I know the trade, not only the software.

I have used the systems I build against. I know what a Danish invoice looks like, what account 5700 means, and why an auditor asks for a receipt. That is why the systems fit into what you already have instead of demanding that you change all of it.

Wedge 03 / 03

I do not take work I cannot solve.

It happens that a problem needs a different kind of specialist than me. When that is the case, I say so on the first call, and I tell you who can do it. That is why I spend half an hour on the first call before anything is agreed.

How I work

From idea to impact.

A proven four-step process that keeps the scope clear, the quality high and the result measurable.

  1. Discovery

I go in and learn how the work is actually done — your business, your goals, your customers.

  2. Design

I draw the solution that fits your need precisely, before anything gets built.

  3. Build

I build the system with continuous feedback and iteration, in short visible rounds.

  4. Deploy & Scale

I put it in production, measure the result and scale it when it earns it.

§ 02 — Background

Teaching, industry and software since 2019.

2019

Teaching maths and programming

Through MentorDanmark I have taught secondary school students maths and programming. It taught me to explain a difficult subject to someone who is not an expert without sounding condescending. I use that ability in every single project.

2020

Software built in real operating environments

I have built and run systems that are live every day, with real data and real consequences. It taught me the things no course teaches you: that a system has to survive a Tuesday when 400 invoices arrive at once, and that someone has to be able to take it over.

2025

AI in production at GXU

AI on the workplace, integrated into processes that were already running, producing output people can actually use. Not demos — systems in operation.

Today

BasedNode

My own company, built around one idea: that most small companies have more repetitive work than they can afford to have automated. I go in, learn the work, and build the system.
